Shift Supervisor (PM)

Direct Supervisor: Front of House Lead

Employee Classification: Part or Full Time hourly at-will employment

Salary: $18.00 an hour + tips

Job description:

The PM Shift Supervisor will assist the Front of House (FOH) Lead in running the hospitality aspect of our club and to ensure that all members’ expectations are exceeded. RECS is a fun place for people of all ages and all skill levels to recreate, compete, and gather. An important piece of this is the time folks are going to want to spend socializing in our player’s lounge after their good time on the pickleball court. The Shift Supervisor will work closely with the FOH Lead to aid in the facilitation of this by supervising employees on the service side of the club to ensure that members have an excellent experience. This is a small hospitality lounge serving beverages (including beer and wine), and commercially pre-packaged offerings. We seek a positive leader with an attention to detail who can problem-solve and navigate the many challenges of a new operation, while guiding others and setting standards to hold others accountable. This is a fun, athletic environment, and it is important to maintain and pass along this culture so our guests can have the most enjoyable experience possible.

Our ideal candidate will have several years of hospitality experience, preferably with supervisory responsibilities. Another critical aspect of this job is using, and helping others use, the software that helps us manage our club and memberships. This position will require wearing many different hats to ensure the smooth operation of the facility and a positive guest experience, so we are looking for someone with a keen sense for small details, who, together with the FOH Lead, can lead the way for the team.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with the day-to-day operations of the club, control usage and sales, and stock product
  • Serve food and drinks and generally provide excellent hospitality to maintain a positive culture
  • Assist FOH Lead in hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling of employees, as well as setting expectations and supervising staff Assist in balancing accounts daily to ensure profitability; maintain positive culture
  • Using and helping others use Court Reserve, the software that helps us manage our club and memberships

Required skills and traits:

  • Positive attitude, commitment, and passion for the excellent guest experience
  • Good communication skills—verbal and written
  • Technologically adept -- not intimidated by learning new software
  • Motivated self-starter with strong work ethic
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Flexible schedule that could include early mornings or evenings
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and schedules
  • Ability to efficiently manage competing priorities, while never losing sight of the guest experience
  • Ability to follow safety protocols
  • Working knowledge of local and state rules and regulations for the sale and distribution of alcohol

Minimum requirements:

  • OLCC server’s permit
  • Oregon Food Handler’s certification
  • Must have high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to operate POS system
  • Must have ability to work on feet for 8 hours at a time
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds
  • Minimum 2 years restaurant/hospitality experience
  • Supervisory experience preferred

Digital, Creative, and Brand Associate

Job Description

Portland-based opportunity to help launch and curate creative, brand and digital marketing efforts behind the newly launched RECS brand (and specifically a new, membership-driven club featuring pickleball) using digital marketing and branding tools, as well as more traditional marketing and branding tools. Primary duty is to create and publish content to drive traffic across a variety of digital channels.

Essential Duties

Assist in developing and implementing brand building and digital marketing strategy and tactics across a variety of platforms, with the goal of establishing and growing a strong social media presence and a loyal membership base. Areas of focus to include:

  • Social Media (possibly including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn)
  • YouTube
  • Website/Blogging
  • Direct email
  • Email newsletters
  • Member & Club management software (Court Reserve)
  • Reviews platforms and community-based platforms, as identified (i.e. NextDoor, Google Reviews, Yelp, etc.)

Ability to conceptualize, produce and distribute digital marketing strategy, as well as monitor reach and effectiveness, tweaking campaigns for optimal performance.

Key traits: Positive attitude, the ability to stay solutions-focused and customer focused under all circumstances, the ability to contribute to a warm and welcoming environment, with an enthusiasm for recreation.

Additional job duties/skills:

  • Assisting with creative/brand ideas across all communications platforms as well as look/feel of member experience and promotional items
  • Assisting with member services/generating member loyalty and enthusiasm about the brand, management, and hospitality
  • Assisting with event sales/management
  • Assisting in Audio/Visual options within the venue (i.e. podcast booth, black light events, cameras for capturing play)
  • Building relationships with community leaders, identified influencers/sponsored players, business partners and additional sponsors
  • Help ensure all policies and procedures regarding marketing, specifically relating to use of customer image and likeness, are adhered to

Skills:

  • Excellent writing and communications skills
  • Strong content creation, editing and videography experience (for reels, Social Media videos/IG stories, etc.
  • Familiarity and willing to master capturing/editing tools including Mac tools, relevant social media and design apps
  • SEO monitoring and management

Requirements:

  • Must be available to work on-site minimum of 24 hours/week (some work can occur remotely)
  • Fully vaccinated and either has received booster shot or it is scheduled

This position requires the ability to multi-task to ensure the smooth operation of the facility and a positive guest experience. We are seeking someone professional who, together with the FOH Lead, will be a valued member of this team.
