Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic, positive, and detail-oriented General Manager to lead the operational and cultural success of a RECS club. This individual will be pivotal in driving financial performance, building engaged and high-performing teams, and ensuring welcoming and exceptional experiences for all community members.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Leadership & Team Development: Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team by setting clear direction, expectations, and fostering growth. Oversee daily staffing, training, and performance management to cultivate strong employee engagement and satisfaction within the team.
- Operational Excellence: Manage all daily club operations, including facility maintenance, efficient team scheduling, optimal court utilization, and successful execution of special events. Implement and enforce established systems and controls to maximize efficiency and achieve optimal utilization of courts, ensuring smooth and effective operations during both peak and off-peak times.
- Marketing & Brand Representation: Collaborate closely with the Marketing Manager to ensure effective communication of all club activities (programming, events, initiatives) in alignment with the marketing strategy. Act as a visible and positive ambassador for the RECS brand in all interactions with members, staff, and the community.
- Financial Performance Management: Drive the club's financial success by effectively utilizing financial tools (KPI dashboard, P&L statements) to meet and exceed financial goals. Diligently monitor, analyze, and report on the club's financial performance against targets.
- Customer Experience & Community Building: Cultivate a consistently positive and welcoming environment for all members and visitors, employing diplomacy and effective conflict resolution skills. Implement directed community engagement initiatives to foster a strong club community. Proactively address and resolve escalated member concerns to ensure high member satisfaction, strong program participation, and encourage member referrals and long-term loyalty.
- Inventory & Retail Operations Collaboration: Partner with the Retail Manager to maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure proper implementation of visual merchandising planograms. Adhere to and enforce standard operating procedures for efficient inventory management.
- Facility Upkeep & Safety Assurance: Ensure the facility (interior and exterior, including parking lot) is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and functionality. Adhere to documented maintenance procedures and schedules. Promptly address and resolve all facility-related issues.
- Compliance & Safety Protocol Implementation: Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols, operational procedures, and relevant local, state, and federal regulations. Maintain required certifications (OLCC server’s permit, Oregon Food Handler’s certification) and ensure ongoing compliance. Implement and oversee established safety protocols and training programs for all staff.
- Technology Proficiency & Adaptability: Demonstrate the ability to quickly learn and effectively utilize all required software platforms for club management, member communication, point-of-sale, and other operational needs.
- Efficient Workflow & Time Management: Effectively manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously, demonstrating strong organizational skills and a commitment to following through on all responsibilities to completion.
- Flexible Scheduling: Maintain a flexible work schedule that can accommodate the needs of the business, including availability during early mornings, evenings, holidays, and weekends as required.

- Progressive management experience in a customer-facing business (e.g., hospitality, recreation, fitness).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for community-building, hospitality, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Highly organized, adaptable, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Experience in the sports, recreation, or hospitality industries.
- Bachelor's degree.
Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 45 lbs and move materials as needed.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when necessary.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer or in a home office setting.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
